HORSE SHOES
Henry, Winnie and Flora get through a set of shoes every six weeks, or so (I know! Our shoes have to last us years..). By then, most are worn through and are useless, but sometimes they are worn but still intact and so we save them.
There are few things as recognisable, evocative and satisfying as a horse-shoe and we get asked for them a lot. Some people just stand them on the window-sill or in the garden, some paint them up beautifully and hang them on the wall, and some use them for pot-stands. We have two yellow ones on trees at the entrance to our place - everyone knows we live at the place with the yellow horse-shoes.
The trouble is horse-shoes are heavy to post so most of the cost is going on stamps. That's just the way it goes. We've cleaned all the mud off, and brushed most of the rust off too. They're not spotless but they're ready to be oiled or painted or whatever you like.
PLEASE NOTE: These still have their tabs attached (some call them tangs). The tabs stick out from the main shoe and help hold it onto the hoof but they stop them sitting flat on a door or table. But, if you like, Tim will cut them off for you - just ask at the time you order one (use the contact form).
€15.00 each plus postage. Click the button below to add to the cart.
