EARRINGS MADE FROM 5000 YEAR-OLD BOG OAK
We found two trunks of oak buried in the bog at the bottom of the field. They've been there, untouched, pickled in the acidic water, for around 5,000 years.
There's lots of rot and cracks through the wood, so only very small things can be made (very carefully!) from the good parts, I've been learning how to make earrings and it's been a privilege to work with this extraordinary material. 5,000 years old and we get to hold it in our hands.
